Driver strikes building with vehicle in 600 block of King Street

Updated Friday, April 24, 2026, 3:35 p.m., after Alexandria Police announced streets had reopened.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — A driver drove a vehicle into a building in the 600 block of King Street on Friday afternoon, and Alexandria police closed several streets in Old Town as a result, the department said.

APD posted on its official social media account at 2:10 p.m. that the 600 block of King Street was closed following the crash. The department said northbound Washington Street between Prince and Cameron streets and westbound King Street between St. Asaph and Washington streets were also closed.
