Pender County Schools proposes $38M draft budget focused on staffing, school safety

PENDER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Pender County Schools is working on a draft budget for the 2026-2027 school year that would increase spending to more than $38 million.

Superintendent Dr. Brad Breedlove said the district needs over $6 million to maintain and advance services. The draft budget has been a yearlong process, with input from parents, teachers, principals, community members and students.
