After a decade of helping local veterans navigate the benefits they earned through service, Perry County Veterans Affairs Director Jim Scott will retire June 5, closing out a career he describes as both rewarding and deeply personal.
Scott, an Air Force veteran who retired from the Air National Guard after 23 years and from the Pennsylvania State Police as a lieutenant after nearly 38 years, has spent the last 10 years serving Perry County’s veteran population. He said the role has allowed him to make a lasting impact.
“This job has really been a rewarding job. I’ve been able to change people’s lives. If you walk out the door at the end of the day and you look back and say, I did the best I could, that’s an accomplishment.”…
