Man Flees Police, Arrested With Loaded Gun in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DE — A 23-year-old man has been charged after police say he allegedly fled from officers and was later found in possession of a loaded handgun.

According to Wilmington police, officers with the Gun Intelligence Unit were in the area of Sherman and North Lombard streets at approximately 12:18 p.m. April 21 when they observed a man acting suspiciously.

Police reported that officers attempted to make contact with the individual in the 500 block of East 10th Street, at which point he allegedly fled on foot. Investigators said the man was taken into custody a short time later without further incident…
