When it came to recruiting in the Class of 2027, times are changing when it comes to Virginia Tech under James Franklin. The Hokies are now in on more of the better recruits around the country, and that is something that is only going to continue to happen.
Right before he was fired at Penn State, Franklin offered Class of 2027 elite athlete and four-star Carter Booner from Baltimore. Virginia Tech wasn’t on his radar under Brent Pry and his staff, but the Hokies popped up on his radar after Franklin was hired in Blacksburg.
In February, Virginia Tech extended an offer to Bonner, and the Hokies were in play. On Monday afternoon, Bonner committed, and he is not coming to Blacksburg.
