The Surfside Beach Town Council convened at the Holiday Inn to discuss the town’s spending plans for the upcoming fiscal year on Thursday, April 23.
Director of Finances Melanie Gruber said the general fund is balanced at $13.1 million for the upcoming fiscal year and the overall budget is anticipated to be about $25 million for FY 2026-2027.
The millage for Fiscal Year 2026-2027 will remain at 43 mils. A primary residence valued at $400,000 will pay $688 in property taxes and a non-primary residence valued at $400,000 will pay $1,032 in property taxes.
