SAN ANTONIO – Nearly a week after two natural gas explosions rocked a Northeast Side neighborhood and sent five people to the hospital, a San Antonio City Council member is calling for the city to take a closer look at how it responds to emergencies.
District 10 Councilman Marc Whyte is pushing for a review of the city’s emergency response protocols following the blasts along Preston Hollow Drive. Whyte said communication and coordination during certain emergencies needs to be better defined, as residents continue to ask how the explosions happened and why people were allowed to return to their homes after the first explosion.
