GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Greensboro extended stay hotel shut down by court order Tuesday has been the site of stabbings, an officer-involved shooting, a drug overdose death, and repeated drug dealing — including a search warrant executed on the hotel’s own front office, according to a city lawsuit that led to the closure.
A Guilford County Superior Court judge signed a temporary restraining order Tuesday against the Studio 6 Extended Stay at 2000 Veasley St., blocking the property from taking in any new guests. Nearly 50 Greensboro police officers and five North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement agents were on scene when city legal staff delivered the order around 11:15 a.m.
The city filed its nuisance abatement complaint Sunday in Guilford County Superior Court, alleging the property “poses an imminent risk to public morals, health, safety, and welfare.” The lawsuit names Narayan Greensboro Hotel, LLC as the property’s owner since December 2020…
