Greensboro city leaders, law enforcement work to prevent nightlife violence: ‘Got to make sure our residents are safe’

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — As the Greensboro Police Department continues its investigation into a shooting that happened inside a nightclub early Sunday morning, city leaders say they are taking a closer look at what happened and how to keep people safe moving forward.

City leaders say the city has a safety review process for businesses like MDN after violent incidents like the shooting.

Frantic 911 calls captured the chaos after gunfire inside the MDN nightclub around 1:39 a.m. on Sunday.

Some callers were heard saying they were running after hearing shots fired. Greensboro police said one person was injured.
