Caldwell man arrested on felony domestic violence charges, striking police K9

CALDWELL, Idaho (CBS2) — Caldwell Police have arrested and charged a local man with felony domestic violence in the presence of a child, witness intimidation, and mistreatment of a police dog, among other charges.

Police report that on April 26, officers responded to the hospital for a report of a domestic violence incident that occurred in Caldwell. The suspect was identified as 29-year-old Eddy Bravo. Police located Bravo at a hotel near I-84, walking on East Hannibal.

Officers attempted to make contact with Bravo, who failed to comply with verbal commands, according to CPD. Officers then used a “less-than-lethal” round to shoot Bravo in what they say was his left shin. Bravo continued to be combative, failing to comply with officer commands. That’s when CPD says they released a K9. Bravo allegedly hit the police dog in the face, fighting with it before officers were successfully able to take him into custody…
