Man convicted of killing 29-year-old stranger who tried to help him: DA’s office

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A kind gesture would be one of his final acts before his body would be discovered in a pool of his own blood. Jamaal Cobb, 29, was found dead nearly six years ago in a DeKalb County park.

DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston shared Tuesday that a jury convicted 41-year-old Ryan Anson Carter of the killing.
