Goose Creek man charged with amphetamine possession after traffic stop

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The North Charleston Police Department arrested a man with drugs after attempting to flee a traffic stop early Tuesday morning.

Darnell Anthony Nolen, 32, is charged with possession of amphetamines.

An officer conducting proactive patrols saw a vehicle parked in the 7300 block of Mazyck Road shortly after midnight. When the officer attempted to approach the occupant of the vehicle, he allegedly fled on foot.

The officer later saw the same vehicle leaving the parking lot at 12:35 a.m. The driver, Nolen, made a left turn onto Mazyck Road and failed to stop at a stop sign. When the officer initiated a traffic stop, the vehicle attempted to evade by turning into a hotel parking lot on Prospect Drive, which ended in a dead end…
