NWS: Cold front brings large hail, rain to Texas within hours

If you thought you could finally store away your umbrella, think again. A cold front is moving into South-Central Texas this week, bringing stormy conditions with it on Wednesday, April 29.

After a few days of sunny skies, the National Weather Service (NWS) says there’s a level one out of five risk for severe storms in and near the San Antonio area this afternoon through the evening. During the same time, there is a slight (level one out of four) chance for “excessive rainfall.”

The NWS’s most recent update listed a 30 percent chance of showers hitting the region after 1 p.m. It’s strengthened by a cold front, which is moving in from the northern counties and will fully settle in on Friday, May 1…
