COLONIE — The Capital Region’s only Smokey Bones barbecue restaurant, open at 1557 Central Ave. since November 2000, abruptly closed Tuesday as part of what appears to be a shuttering of all 20 locations in eight states, from Massachusetts to North Carolina and Michigan. An employee confirmed for the Times Union on Wednesday morning that staff was informed of the closure a day earlier.
The company website lists all Smokey Bones as closed every day of the week.
