‘Met with hostility’: Waynesboro woman speaks out about being trespassed from Kroger

WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) – A Waynesboro woman said a misunderstanding at a grocery store has turned into a serious burden, claiming she was trespassed from a nearby Kroger after trying to use a service that she said management didn’t fully understand.

Around 2 p.m. on Oct. 3, 2025, Waynesboro resident Dominique Fields was trespassed from the Kroger at 245 Arch Avenue in Waynesboro — within walking distance from her home — after making a deposit into the Cash App kiosk in the store. With still no change or apology, she’s hoping to spread awareness of what she believes were discriminatory actions.

“I was depositing money into my Cash App account using the Kroger kiosk so I could send my rent to my landlord,” Fields said. “And it prompted her refund. When the assistant store manager [anonymous] seemed to give me the refund. I was met with hostility, and I just asked him if he would help me process the deposit, and he told me that I needed to leave the store.”…
