VERO BEACH — The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County is partnering with the BISSELL Pet Foundation to host its annual Empty the Shelters adoption event, hoping to move dozens of dogs and cats into local homes by slashing or waiving fees.
The two-week campaign runs May 1-17 at the shelter, which is operating at full capacity. Officials said the timing could not be better.
“We at HSVB are excited to participate in Empty the Shelters,” said Nichola Redmond, the Humane Society’s chief of operations. “With our shelter being at full capacity, we are grateful to the BISSELL Pet Foundation for this opportunity and funding.
