Chachi’s House, a Puerto Rican and Caribbean food vendor tucked into a shipping container at The Food Zone Grand Texas in New Caney, has shut down after a blink-and-you-missed-it run. The family operation announced the move quietly in a social media post last Wednesday, stepping away from the food park not long after opening.
As reported by Community Impact, the business wrote, “It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of the closing of our family business, Chachi’s House,” and said the owners had “made the difficult decision to close our doors to set our sights on new goals.” Community Impact also noted that the restaurant opened at The Food Zone in early March, based on a spokesperson’s message on April 9.
Where it was
The Food Zone’s Grand Texas directory still lists the park and shows the address where Chachi’s House operated, confirming the vendor’s spot in the container lineup at 23020 Speed St. According to The Food Zone, that New Caney site hosts multiple container kitchens and a rotating cast of vendors.
