KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A Lansing-based nonprofit that has spent more than a decade helping families overcome one of the most common barriers to healthcare — transportation — is expanding into Southwest Michigan with a new pilot program in Kalamazoo County.
The Davies Project announced it is now offering free rides to medical appointments for children with serious health conditions, pregnant people, and families with babies in neonatal intensive care units. Leaders say the expansion is designed to help families who might otherwise miss critical care because they do not have reliable transportation.
