Hendersonville hits next stop in traffic signal improvement project

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A green light for the next stop in Hendersonville’s efforts to improve traffic flow.

Earlier this month, the Tennessee Department of Transportation awarded Hendersonville about $1.6 million to fund traffic light radars, the next phase in the city’s work to synchronize their traffic signals and decrease traffic congestion.

The radars will help monitor traffic and make adjustments when needed, right from city hall.

“We won’t be relying on the machinery, the mechanics, the equipment that are actually inside the pavement,” explained Hendersonville Mayor Jamie Clary. “So all of our traffic signals that are part of this project—and that’s most of them—will have radar set up, and that radar will communicate to a central office in city hall.”…
