IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) – The Housing Authority of Iowa City is creating a nonprofit extension that could mean an additional half a million dollars a year for affordable housing efforts.
The Housing Authority is a division of the city which distributes and manages rental assistance and vouchers to nearly 1,600 households across three counties. Nearly 60% of recipients are disabled and/or elderly.
