WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Students at Wichita’s Independent School faced an unusual challenge on Wednesday: racing boats made entirely out of cardboard.
The school hosted its all-school Cardboard Boat Race at the Wichita Swim Club.
Contestants built the boats using only cardboard and duct tape, then raced them across the pool in hopes of avoiding a soggy defeat.
The school said students were able to apply their creativity, problem-solving and teamwork skills as they tested their designs in real time.
