Kids get in free at this OKC festival

Have you ever wondered what it was like to live as a cowboy for a day? Not a Hollywood cowboy where you’re twirling a rope and wearing a pastel fringe button-up, but actually embodying the real-world life-cycle of a Wild West cowboy? Good news, you get to at least eat like one at the Chuck Wagon Festival in OKC.

Every year the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum invites the country’s best chuck wagoneers for a weekend of food, family fun, and history.

Of course, food is up front. You can sample some of the best eats from around the west, but there’s more to the festival than delicious biscuits and beans. It’s a great way to learn about how our world was once upon a time…
