PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — For the first time since the identities in the Martin Family case were confirmed, two key figures — retired KOIN 6 journalist Jeff Gianola and diver Archer Mayo — are opening up about the discovery that solved a nearly 70-year-old mystery.
The Martins vanished in 1958, sparking one of Oregon’s largest searches — but nothing turned up.
Then in 2018, Mayo saw Gianola’s reporting and decided to act.
