Police called to Lancaster elementary school after possible threat reported

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) — Police were called to a Lancaster elementary school Friday morning after a possible threat was reported.

Lancaster police said Washington Elementary School, located at 545 S Ann St., was placed on lockdown out of precaution as officers and the Lancaster Safety Coalition searched the area with a drone around 12:15 p.m.

The report was unfounded and there is no threat to the school or the community, police said. The lockdown was lifted.
