I‑35W Off‑Ramp Showdown Leaves Fort Worth Driver Dead

A roadside confrontation at a Fort Worth off-ramp turned deadly yesterday after a suspected road-rage shooting on the I‑35W northbound service road, authorities said. Police report that two vehicles exited the freeway at the Meacham Boulevard off-ramp, where an argument at the traffic light escalated into gunfire. One driver was shot, taken to a hospital, and later pronounced dead, while the other driver was detained at the scene and remained there to speak with officers.

What Police Say Happened

Fort Worth police responded just after 2:30 p.m. to reports of a shooting on the 4600 block of the North Freeway service road, according to CBS News Texas. The outlet reports that both vehicles had exited at Meacham Boulevard when an altercation at the traffic light ended with one driver shooting the other. The driver who allegedly fired the shot then called police and was detained at the scene, according to the report.
