Memorial Stadium renovation project to impact parking starting in July

LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska Today) – A major update to Memorial Stadium will reduce parking availability on the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s City Campus beginning this summer, with additional impacts expected into 2027.

The project — known as the Big Red Rebuild and approved by the University of Nebraska Board of Regents — will require both permanent and temporary parking displacements to accommodate construction staging and infrastructure upgrades.

The first changes take effect July 1, when the South Stadium lot will see a net loss of 98 spaces. The reduction includes most of the lot’s existing capacity as well as a small number of spaces near Avery Hall used for service access. Reserved, hourly and Building Systems Maintenance spaces will all be affected…
