LUCAS COUNTY, Ohio — Federal safety funding is paving the way for three new roundabouts in Lucas County, with construction targeted for 2031.
According to a news release from the Lucas County Engineer’s Office, the projects will be funded through grants awarded by the County Engineers Association of Ohio as part of the federal Highway Safety Improvement Program. The program focuses on reducing serious crashes and fatalities on public roadways.
The three intersections slated for conversion into single-lane roundabouts include:
Shaffer Road and Wilkins Road in Swanton, Spencer, and Harding townships
Dorr Street and Crissey Road (western leg) in Springfield and Spencer townships
Old State Line Road and Crissey Road in Springfield and Spencer townships
