GARRETSON, S.D. (KELO) – A new store has opened up in Garretson giving community members and nearby farmers a closer option for hardware, tools, feed and much more.
On the western edge of Garretson there now sits a shop that co-owner Rod Tillma opened with two other partners. He says the original goal for Splitrock Ag Services was to be a forage and acreage based store, however, it quickly turned into a hardware and feed store as well, among other things.
“Oh we got gardening tools, we’ve got gardening utensils. We’ve got gloves, fertilizers, grass seed, plumbing fixtures, electrical fixtures, nuts, bolts, hoses,” Tillma said. “We’ve got vaccines for cattle, we’ve got horse equipment, bird feeders, bird feed, chicken equipment, all kinds of different stuff.”

This week they also opened up a greenhouse, which Tillma says is something Garretson hasn’t had for around three years…
