Seattle mayor talks about shooting, initially rejects speaking about city policy change

SEATTLE — Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson spoke publicly for the first time about a shooting outside her event that forced her to be rushed to safety and prompted a lockdown at a community center.

“I’m doing great,” Wilson told KOMO News. “I’ve got a great team supporting me.

I’ll just say we don’t have any indication that the shooting was targeted or anything like that. I think it’s a reminder of how much work we have to do as a city on gun violence. But I’m doing fine.”…
