Mentor High School student arrested by Kirtland police: What we know

MENTOR, Ohio — 3News has learned that a Mentor High School student was arrested by Kirtland police while at school.

According to an email sent to families on Friday, May 1, from Mentor Public Schools Superintendent Craig Heath, the student is facing alleged criminal charges in Willoughby Municipal Court. Heath stated that court documents show the student is facing the charge of pandering obscenity involving a minor.

“Because this is a law enforcement matter and not a school-led investigation, we do not have additional details to share. We were notified of the warrant by our School Resource Officer as Kirtland Police were en route to the school,” said Mentor Public Schools in the letter…
