Person rescued from submerged vehicle near Westminster Avenue in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A person was rescued from a submerged vehicle near Westminster Avenue in Norfolk Saturday morning, according to Norfolk Fire-Rescue.

On May 2 at around 1:55 a.m., the department responded to a report of a truck that had driven off the road into the water near the 3500 block of Westminster Avenue. When crews arrived, they found one person in a vehicle that was submerged in water. Crews safely extricated the person who was then transported to the hospital in stable condition.

There were no other reported injuries.
