Army veteran, family get rent-free home to help with transition to civilian life

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — An Army veteran and his family got to see their new rent-free home for the first time during a ceremony put on by Operation Homefront on Saturday, May 2 in Northeast El Paso.

The home was presented to Army veteran Samuel Gouzoules, his wife Athena and their son on Saturday during a welcome ceremony and key presentation.

Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit organization serving America’s military and veteran families, teams up with Dollar Tree for the Transitional Homes for Veterans program.

Through Operation Homefront’s THV program, military families transitioning to civilian life can live rent-free for up to three years while receiving personalized support from caseworkers and financial counselors…
