SCHENECTADY, NY (WRGB) — Hundreds of Capital Region residents braved cold temperatures to take part in Schenectady’s annual Phil Grisby Memorial Crop Hunger Walk, an event held rain or shine for more than 40 years to raise money and awareness to fight food insecurity.
Nearly $70,000 was raised from Crop Hunger Walks across the Capital Region held Sunday. Local Schenectady leaders said the walk is meant to spotlight the needs of people who “do not have a choice” when it comes to hunger.
