Valley records 55 motorcycle fatalities over five years

As warmer weather returns, the Ohio State Highway Patrol is reminding drivers to remain alert for an increasing number of motorcycles on the road.

State officials and troopers are asking both vehicle drivers and motorcycle riders to share the road and avoid driving while impaired.

Statistics from the patrol show that nearly 20,000 motorcycle-involved crashes have occurred on Ohio roadways over the last five years. More than 1,000 of those incidents resulted in fatalities…
