21-year-old hospitalized after early morning Albany shooting

Albany, NY (WRGB) — Albany police are investigating an early morning shooting that left a 21-year-old man hospitalized after he arrived at St. Peter’s Hospital with a gunshot wound.

Police said staff at St. Peter’s Hospital notified officers on Monday, May 4, 2026, at about 4:50 a.m. that a male had entered the emergency room with a gunshot wound. Officers responded and found a 21-year-old man who had been shot in the thigh.

Investigators later determined the shooting happened in the area of 1475 Washington Ave. The victim was transferred to Albany Medical Center Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition…
