DUMFRIES, Va. — A 20-year-old man is recovering after being shot near a Walmart in Dumfries on Sunday evening. Police are still searching for the person or people responsible.
According to a spokesperson for the Prince William County Police Department, officers were called to the 2900 block of Hickory Creek Court around 6:30 p.m. in response to a report of a shooting. When they got there, responding officers found the man had been shot in the lower body. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.
Police searched the area with a K9 to try to find the crime scene itself and anyone else who may have been involved, but nothing was found…
