CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Liz Bonis empowered countless people to take charge of their well-being.
Local 12 is honoring the legacy of our colleague by carrying forward the mission she cared so deeply about. Her husband recently shared a letter with Local 12, and with his permission, we share part of that message in tribute to Liz and the impact she continues to make.
In the letter, he wrote: “[Liz] also told me to make sure everybody I talked to gets a colonoscopy, a pap smear, a prostate or breast exam, and a PSA test. Cancer is detectable. I hope you’ll do that.”
In March, Liz reported on retired Christ Hospital Dr. Michal Jennings as he advocated for colon cancer screenings after his own unexpected diagnosis. He and Dr. Janice Rafferty joined Liz’s health show. Little did we know she had been battling colon cancer for three years…
