EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — May 4 is an unofficial “Star Wars” holiday: “May the 4th be with you.”
For some, the date goes unnoticed, but for Jon Wilson, an East Lansing local, it takes on a serious set-up.
“My mom took me to see ‘Star Wars’ when I was 12 years old, and it just stuck,” Wilson said. “I’ve always enjoyed it. And then actually when I had kids and everything, it kind of went away for a while. And then in 1996, my wife made the huge mistake of buying me a Darth Vader 12-inch figure, and it kind of just blew up from there.”
Now, almost 20 years later, Wilson’s special interest has taken over his lawn, staging life-sized “Star Wars” figures in his yard for select dates. He has even custom made some of his action figures, including his new R4 figure, made from recycled materials…
