EAGLE, Idaho (CBS2) — This weekend, people can make their way over to Eagle Island State Park to experience what life was like during the Civil War. The Idaho Civil War Volunteers putting on a living history to engage the public, of all ages, in an “immersive experience.”
People who attend can expect various stations set up with period accurate attire and equipment to demonstrate how people may have lived. Gary Keith, president of ICWV, says it’s a fun way to educate people and get them involved.
“So, instead of just standing up and talking about history, we’ve got a table full of items, whether it’s a tin cup a soldier would have carried or their canteen,” Keith said. “So it’s more engaging for the public than us just standing there in a suit and a tie and talking. It really gets people in of all ages.”…
