Man guilty of deadly shooting of viral Garfield Heights father will be sentenced

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The man found guilty of fatal shooting a young Garfield Heights father, will be sentenced Tuesday in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas.

In March, Wuanyae Arrington, 30, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, two counts of felonious assault, and having weapons while under disability for the death of Jose Ervin Jr.

Ervin was killed following an argument with Arrington around 2:45 a.m. on Oct. 4, 2024 near Turney and McCracken Roads, according to Garfield Heights police.
