Lawsuit claims Brooklyn police ignored warning signs before officer punched handcuffed woman

BROOKLYN, Ohio (WOIO) — A Maple Heights man has filed a civil rights lawsuit against the Brooklyn Police Department, the police chief and five officers, claiming the department ignored early warning signs about a sergeant who was later fired for punching a handcuffed woman.

“After seeing your story, I realized that this was an excessive force case,” said attorney Anthony Jordan.
