CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The Cedar Rapids Community School District has named David Nicholson as its next chief financial officer, district officials announced.
Nicholson, a veteran school finance leader, will succeed current CFO Karla Hogan, who plans to retire in January 2027 after nearly a decade with the district, including four years in the top financial role.
Nicholson currently serves as chief financial officer and treasurer for the Council Bluffs Community School District. His appointment marks a return to Cedar Rapids, where he previously worked for four years as the district’s executive director of business services…
