Muhlenberg’s $10 million budget deficit could lead to layoffs, Muhlenberg AAUP says

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The American Association of University Professors (AAUP) said Muhlenberg’s $10 million budget deficit means people will lose their jobs as the college looks for ways to reduce costs.

The AAUP said while it cannot prevent or dictate layoffs, it can point out the inequity of how these layoffs occur.

According to AAUP, “Faculty will be given the grace to teach for another year, with the ability to settle their affairs within their departments, find suitable next employment and the chance to say goodbye to colleagues and students.”…
