NORTHEAST, Wis. (WBAY) – A Brown County judge, a former local jurist now serving on the federal bench and an Appleton attorney have been recognized with honors from the State Bar of Wisconsin.
Brown County Circuit Court Judge Thomas J. Walsh, former Brown County judge and current U.S. District Court Judge William C. Griesbach and Appleton public defender Alaina Fahley are among the 2026 award recipients recognized for leadership, service and contributions to the administration of justice.
Walsh received the Hon. Charles Dunn Wisconsin Lawyer Author Award for excellence in legal writing published in Wisconsin Lawyer magazine. His article examined the role of lawyers and judges in maintaining the integrity of the justice system and the balance of government.
Griesbach was honored with the State Bar’s Lifetime Jurist Award, recognizing a career defined by fairness, integrity and long-standing service. He served as a Brown County Circuit Court judge from 1995 to 2002 before his appointment to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, where he continues to serve on senior status.
