Controversial Dixie Highway overhaul remains on hold following public meetings

ERLANGER, Ky. (WKRC) – A proposed redesign of a busy stretch of Dixie Highway in Northern Kentucky remains on hold after a series of meetings to gather feedback from residents and local leaders wrapped up on Tuesday.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is considering changes along a mile-and-a-half section of Dixie Highway, where the agency says crash numbers are significantly higher than similar roadways across the state. The plan calls for reducing Dixie Highway from four lanes to two — one lane in each direction — and adding a dedicated center turn lane between Turfway Road and Stevenson Road.
