CANYON, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – West Texas A&M University and Canyon Independent School District are hosting a special reception to celebrate the end of the first year of their new Buff Residency program.
The event will be in the Pecan Room at Canyon ISD’s District Support Center on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

According to WT officials, the Buff Residency program offers aspiring educators a year long, paid clinical teaching experience where they co-teach alongside a mentor. Buff Residency cohort members spend an entire academic year at one school, giving the prospective teachers more time in classrooms, more experience in planning instruction, and more opportunities to be mentored by working professionals, unlike traditional models of clinical or student teaching.
