BATON ROUGE – Four of the eleven million-dollar-plus Powerball wins from the unprecedented April 29 drawing have been claimed. On Friday, May 1 Larry Sheffield of Marrero claimed his $1 million prize from the Lottery’s headquarters in Baton Rouge, where he took home $730,000 after state and federal tax withholdings.
He purchased his ticket from G-Zone located at 4963 Lapalco Boulevard in Marrero. The store’s owner, Ghassan Jabbar, said selling the ticket was “his dream come true to aid in getting more traffic to his store.”
On May 5, Antonio Bradford of Shreveport claimed his $1 million prize at Lottery headquarters, making him the second claimant from this unique drawing. After state and federal tax withholdings, he went home with $730,000…
