HARLEM, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Three Columbia County schools sent parent notifications about separate incidents on Thursday, May 7, including one fight at Harlem High School and threatening comments reported at two middle schools.
Harlem High School: lunch altercation
Harlem High School Principal Casey Dees said an altercation happened during lunch. School administrators and Columbia County School District Police “immediately responded,” and the student involved is being held accountable under the district’s code of conduct and the law.
Harlem Middle School: threatening comment in class
Harlem Middle School Principal Valery Reed said a student made “an inappropriate comment of a threatening nature” in a classroom. District police and administrators responded, and the student is being held accountable under the code of conduct. Reed urged parents to talk with their children about the seriousness and consequences of threatening comments.
Lakeside Middle School: threatening comments reported
