Dundalk man sentenced for orchestrating counterfeit money scheme

BALTIMORE, MD—A Dundalk man was sentenced Thursday to 32 months in federal prison for orchestrating a counterfeit money scheme while he was already on federal supervised release for a previous crime.

Jason Christian Evans, 51, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Richard D. Bennett, who also ordered Evans to serve three years of supervised release following his prison term. Evans pleaded guilty to the purchase and possession of counterfeit federal reserve notes, which he used at various retail locations.

According to court documents, the investigation revealed that Evans traveled to Pennsylvania on Jan. 30, 2025, in violation of the terms of his supervised release following a prior sentence for bank fraud.
