Warmer and brighter end to the week with a pleasant Mother’s Day weekend

(WIFR) – It was down right frigid this morning as clear skies and calm winds allowed our temperatures to fall all the way down to 27 degrees in Rockford. Not only did this allow widespread frost/freeze to develop, it also broke our previous record low of 28 degrees set in 1989.

While we are looking at another cool night tonight, temperatures won’t be as cold. We’ll bottom out this evening in the middle to upper 30s. We could still see a few areas of patchy frost, especially in our low lying areas, but it won’t be as widespread.
